In this article you will learn the breakdown of every section of the rhetorical analysis essay, and what you should be including in order to earn a five this May. The first part of the rhetorical essay is the introduction. Before you start writing, make sure to thoroughly read through your text. The beginning of your first paragraph will include naming the piece you are analyzing, then contextualizing it and including any relevant background information. This can include historical events that were taking place during the writing of this essay for example, World War II, the Civil Rights Movement, a certain political campaign, etc.
